Meet Brian

Brian Taylor is a civil servant and struggling entrepreneur. A Democratic Candidate ready, willing and able to fight for small businesses, the middle class, the struggling working class men and women of Virginia.
Virginia's 7th Congressional District needs a Representative that is concerned about the senior citizens, middle class, working class and struggling class families!
I am a moderate thinking democrat trying to help President Obama brdge the bipartisan gap in Washington D.C., basically it all depends on the issue that I am faced with how I would vote, but rest assured my votes and actions will be mainly on the results and its affect of the senior citizens; the middle class; the working class, and struggling class families of the 7th Congressional District of Virginia. I feel that we need to get past the typical debates and get back focused on our economy and national security.
Brian grew up in a middle-class family of seven children in Harlem, New York. He took his first job delivering the Daily News and New York Times at the age of 14. Brian would later hold positions as a bank teller, night porter before serving in the USANG as a Military Police Officer. Upon separation he became a Correction Officer for the State of New York and attended Stenotype Academy receiving a Paralegal Certificate. Brian eventually returned to the private sector to help raise his family, but remained in the law enforcement field. Brian has recently worked as the Asst. Director of Public Safety at a local mall in Henrico County. After returning to school to obtain a B.S. in Public Administration, Brian has entered back into the civil service arena again and currently works for Virginia's DBHDS. Brian is currently President of UE Local 160, Virginia's Public Service Workers Union and is mounting several campaigns to protest State Budget Cuts, unfair Workers Compensation Benefits and the repeal of Virginia's Code 40.1-56.2 Prohibition against collective bargaining by State, County and Municipal employees.
Brian has joined the Democratic Party of Virginia and is a member of the Henrico County Democratic Committee. Brian is a vocal advocate for working class families across the State; Democratic Party principles, like fighting to end our reliance on foreign oil, the development of renewable energy sources that are better for the environment and can create good paying jobs.
As congressman, Brian will continue to work with people from all walks of life, different political and religious stripes to get our country back on course to greatness.
Nearly 8 years ago Brian and his wife Eleanor chose Virginia as their home. They lived with two of their three daughters in the city of Norfolk before moving to Henrico County over 4 years ago, where they attend St. Paul Baptist Church. Brian is active in and supportive of community and charitable groups, including RIHD, VAWN, AARP, the American Red Cross, the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, Covenant with Black America and the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial Foundation.
